I am so in love with weddings and all the emotions that they bring out – I’m one of those girls who started pinning wedding ideas on Pinterest before I was even engaged (embarrassing, but true).
So when my fiancée proposed, I already had a good feel for what I wanted my wedding day to be like.
These are the three areas my fiancée and I decided to splurge on:
- Good Photographer = Life-long beautiful photos through which I will relive the special day
- Good Food = Happy Guests = Happy Wedding
- Beautiful Venue = Happy Bride and Groom (bonus: makes photographer’s job easier too!)
These are our personal three which are of paramount importance to our wedding day. For you they might be entirely different, and that’s okay, because each couple is different
But I knew that having a good photographer went beyond getting photos. A person wants someone who they will feel comfortable with, who is going to make them look their best and can see which angles work best for them. A photographer who knows how to handle tricky light, a nervous/upset bride, weird weather and who also carries spare tissues and breath mints!
A photographer who will be professional, yet also be a guiding force during the day and make everyone feel at ease.
It is only fair that a professional photographer can deliver these things to their wedding clients and so I always strive to be the photographer that I want to have at our wedding one day.
Once all of these are sorted, we can ensure that you not only have a day that will not be forgotten but will reflect your joy and love as well.
Once I’m booked by a bride, I will meet with her and her fiancée so I can hear all about the wedding details and learn more about the couple. This will help me to find out what makes them unique and to understand what is important to them. These aspects will ensure that their personalities are better revealed in their photos. From there we can arrange an engagement shoot so that we become more comfortable with one another.
I always take the week before the wedding to ensure that all of my equipment (AND backup equipment!) are working 100%. I also make sure to get a good night’s rest and have everything ready for your big day.
I absolutely love being a cape town wedding photographer – we have such a wide variety of beautiful venues as well as service providers – I’d be happy to give you some information regarding these.
