Izanne must be one of the kindest people I have ever met. She is warm, friendly and compassionate and when she gave me a big hug after our first meeting, I knew this was certainly a very special lady.
Michael is down-to-earth and someone who constantly keeps you laughing and smiling with his good humour and wit! And I’m sure he has done secret posing classes that he’s not telling us about, because he is so comfortable in front of the camera, it’s amazing!  So when I met these two, I knew I was really going to enjoy shooting their wedding and they didn’t disappoint! The day was filled with an overwhelming amount of joy and love and it made my heart so happy to witness these two lovely people start their lives together.
Thank you as well to my extremely talented friend Colette from Flash of Madness who second shot for me
xx

Here are some words from the couple:

How did you and Michael meet?
Michael and I met in a strange but oh-so-wonderful way!
I was looking to rent a flat while I was a student, and after a long search I found a perfect flat where I only had 3 neighbours. One of these neighbours happened to be Michael. Days went past where we just said the occasional “hi” when passing each other (with me strangely feeling butterflies for him LOL!) I had a few things that needed a handy man and when I mentioned this to him, he offered to help and fixed everything. I felt I needed to repay him and asked him over for coffee. Since that first cup we spent more time together, first forming a friendship which then flourished into a relationship and now we are married and never looking back!

How did Michael propose?
He proposed at Houw Hoek Inn, a beautiful and majestic mountain lodge outside Grabouw. After a 3 course meal and dancing the night away under the moon and starry sky, he took me outside and started to tell me that he wants to be with me forever and that he loves me to the moon and back. As he was opening his heart to me, I began to tear up and he reached into his pocket (I was expecting a tissue) and he pulled out the ring and asked: “Sal jy my vrou wees?”
Between the tears of joy I said yes! When we entered into the venue all the guests gathered around and opened the dance floor for us and we had our first dance as an engaged couple! Champagne was brought to us with all the best wishes from everyone. That was one magical night!

What theme did you decide on for your wedding?
Our theme was rustic vintage.

Which part of the day was most memorable for you both?
Seeing each other in our wedding attire and saying our “I do’s”. We play it over and over in our minds!

Which song did you use for your first dance?
Sewe Oseane by Andriette Norman.

Any special thanks?
We would like to thank God for giving us each other and our parents for blessing us with this day. Also my very creative aunt Mariaan who managed the decor!
